(2018-12-19) Malakai's Revenge
Elizabeth gets taken by the cult after she's tagged in the shoulder with a bullet. Lonnie is an urban commando. Sully takes no shit. John and Misfit are scary. Wyatt keeps people from bleeding to death, and Mike just shoots people. It's chaos.
Players:
elizabeth..sully..john..wyatt..lonnie..mike..

Elizabeth has relaxed a little bit. Hell, it's been at least two weeks since anyone threw a grenade at her or tried to kill her. She shops aimlessly like a person who isn't sure what she should be buying, or what she's going to do with it once she gets it. She gets to the check out, and pays without blinking a lash. The two pre-teens outside without parents should have been her first clue that something was up, but again, she's not paying attention. She gets her bag from the nice man who even was kind enough to double bag her microwave food and stomped toward the door.

She didn't even see the boy pull the pistol from his jacket. His finger tightens on the trigger before she sees the metallic flash out of her peripheral vision, and instinct has her swinging her grocery bag out at his arm. The shot goes wild, and it seems like the world takes a breath, everything going silent for a few moments, and then all hell breaks loose.

*

John was the man who kindly double-bagged Elizabeth's groceries. He even offered to carry them out for her before she declined. However, that declination turned his attention to the next customer in line, who then received his full attention. And then there's a gunshot. John quickly turns around to survey the situation, easily identifying the gunman who is still holding the pistol. The first thing he does is to tell the cashier and customer to stay down, call 911, and don't move unless the gunman comes after them. Then he promises them everything will be alright, and takes a quick inventory of his surroundings. While he doesn't have any typical implements of death in the immediate area, the customer in line had brought up a large frozen pizza and several canned goods. John claims the pizza and a can of corn, and then looks to make his way towards the gunman through what is surely a bit o chaos erupting at the front end of the store.

*

Food4Less was Misfit's main source of groceries since it was so close to where she was currently hiding out. It was also the workplace of a particular someone that she was trying to keep an eye on because reasons. She was currently stuffing her basket with various snack items and ramen noodles because why would she want proper food? She was a very aware sort of person, trained to spot out of the ordinary things and react to them. The pre-teens had been hanging out when Misfit entered the store and there was something akin to a spidey sense that had tingled but they weren't her problem and she had stuff to be doing.

Now, however, Missy was finishing up in the checkout line, having of course been John's next customer. When the gunshot rang off. In a lightening motion she had retrieved her hidden blade that was tucked inside her left boot and stayed crouched down - items forgotten on the belt for now. She watched as John advanced towards the gunman and would start to make her way towards him as well, though kept a fair distance.

*

In the candy aisle, with a little shopping basket hooked over her arm, stands Dr. Sullivan Tremble. She holds a multi-pack of mini Kit Kat in one hand, and a jumbo Kit Kat in the other. Both are flipped so she can read and compare the information provided on the backs. The brunette is petite, dressed in black slacks and a button-down blouse. A motorcycle jacket is zipped closed over her top, dark hair worn down to brush past her shoulders. Just another professional after office hours making the important choices in life.

The sharp report of a shot hits her nervous system before she's even fully processed it. The first thing she does is reach for her phone. The second is creep along the candy aisle, quietly as she can, staying low.

*

Having recently agreed to cook for even more people it seems Wyatt is another face to show up looking to do some grocery shopping. Having all he needs and going to the cashier as well, a few down the line from where John and Elizabeth were. Paying and putting away his wallet. About to gather his things as the shot rings. Getting out of sight as he tries to determine how far it is to the gunman. Ready to run to tackle. Taking in the other people and how they are handling things. Trying to calm those closest.

*

Elizabeth freezes as the report of the gun sounds, blinking at the kid that just shot at her. She hesitates for just one second and then she draws back, her fist shooting out to clock the kid in the face. He goes down and the second girl is struggling to pull her own weapon free, but is having trouble getting it out of her pocket. It's almost like Children of the Corn outside at this point, some of the teenagers approaching the scene looks as if they won't be teenagers for long. Knowing that staying outside the store will probably end in her death, she retreats back inside the supermarket. "Everyone get down! There are more guns out there!" Thankfully, even if she doesn't have her police issued weapon, she still has a pistol on her. She draws it, knowing that she won't have enough bullets if all of the kids outside are armed. "Someone call nine one one!"

*

When Elizabeth defends herself, John's eyebrows raise. It's hard to surprise him, but she does. He hadn't pegged her as a cop or noticed her sidearm. Mentally, he chides himself and worries that he might be slipping some, promising to pay more attention in the future. Still carrying the pizza and corn, he approaches Elizabeth in a hurried crouch. "That kid shot at you. Is he out or did you just knock him down?" John asks, stopping near Elizabeth and scanning carefully out of the window.

*

Sully dropped her basket and one of the Kit Kat packs when the gunshot startled her out of her line by line comparison. She creeps along the candy aisle, shoves the other candy packet into her pocket to free her other hand, already dialing 911. She puts the phone to her ear, and the first thing she says is, "Shots fired at the Food4Less, Main and Willow, multiple active shooters. I'm the new Medical Examiner and I make my living digging rounds out of dead people; yes, I'm sure." Sully doesn't seem to have a lot of patience with call taker standard questions.

*

Missy grinned a bit, a wild look in her eyes as she spied the scene developing outside. She slid up on Elizabeth's other side now still holding the sheathed knife. Eyeing the person Elizabeth had clocked to check his status. Then quickly assessed the others approaching and how quickly she might be able to get to the sidearm of the fallen kid. "They all come to dance with you, pretty girl?" Missy asked Elizabeth, glancing to her before looking at the teenagers. Just a little bit closer.

*

Lonnie, having been spending his time browsing the bakery and trying to work out the number of donuts he can afford without having to put any of his groceries back, is caught off guard by the gunshot.
"Fuckin'.. that'd better be a firecracker, ain't got time for this shit today," the oversized biker murmurs to himself as he tosses a half dozen donuts into a little bag and into the basket, before making his way out from the back of the store… to see that it wasn't a firecracker, "Jesus H Christ." he snarls, putting himself into a crouch, back flat against one of the sturdier looking aisles.

*

Wyatt hear the words from Elizabeth, getting some cans and try to find something else to block the doors. While looking around he does notice a few that are calling 911 already, among them Sully. Instead focusing on not letting them come inside, if possible. Looking to John and Elizabeth. "You okay?" Ready to help out as needed.

*

"Dance? The fuck. They're from the fucking cult!" Elizabeth jumps when John kneels beside her. "Uh.. I think I knocked him out? I'm not really sure though." She glances toward the door, yes, the very door that will open and close when someone walks close. Not exactly safe these sliding doors. She aims a startled look at Missy and nods, frowning. "I uh.. pissed them off pretty good. I think they want to make sure I don't do it again?" She pulls her gun from it's holster, checking her ammo right as a slightly deep voice calls from outside, "Send out the blonde and we'll go away." Elizabeth makes a face, rolling her eyes before she glances at John. "There a back door to this place?" She nods at Wyatt, managing a brief laugh. "I mean, he didn't shoot me. Yet."

*

"Of course. There are several emergency exits," John says. "I'm sure the managers will be directing people that way, now." He then looks over at Misfit and frowns. "Just like old times, huh? Don't pull another Beirut. I'm not going to carry you, this time," he comments to her. As Elizabeth checks her gun, John scans the outside again. "So, this cult. They're mostly kids? And I'm guessing there's no talking to them or threatening to call their parents?" he asks, pretty much ignoring the voice who called out to them.

*

By this time, Sully's at the end of the sweets aisle, which happens to be quite near Lonnie's crouching position, perhaps two aisles nearer the doors. She crouches there, unzipping her moto jacket, phone pressed to her ear. She risks a pop up to scan the outside before she drops back down again. "Doctor Sullivan Tremble. Yes, Medical Examiner. Yes. Roll fire too. Shooters are teens and teens have shitty aim." Seems like she heard that call for the blonde, and caught enough of Elizabeth's commentary to realize that she's the blonde in question..

*

Missy smirked a bit as one of the voices calls out. "They want the blonde, they can have a blonde." She wiggled her fingers and looked over to John finally, then to Elizabeth. "But yeah, you should get outta here." She said to the woman. "Carry me? I carried you all the way across the border." Missy murmured. She had a plan formulating in her mind. Dive through the doors, grab the kids gun, and fire off a shot at the closest one. "I'm going for it. Cover me." She slid her knife over to John and made her move towards the doors.

*

Wyatt nods, "Fair enough. Bullet holes are no good. I've heard." He offers, Hearing those outside. "One moment please." Turning to John, "Is it possible to stop the doors from opening? Like, locking or disabling them?" Hearing his answer about the doors though, "Good to know." Letting people start handling that. Trying to send people to those that actually work here and know the way. Looking to Missy as she heads for the door. Being at the ready to help out. If nothing else he at least has cans to throw to distract.

*

Just as well Lonnie isn't armed really, what with the Man.. or woman, in Sully's case, making herself known. That way lies a trip back to Chino and, well, fuck that noise. Well, he does have his knives and the little piece in his boot, but hes still better just taking cover in the hygiene aisle- of all the places to be caught- and he has these donuts calling to him.
/Eat me, Lonnie, eat me for free/. They say, but the kids threaten a lady, calling for the blonde, and god help him his hand is pulling the little gun from his boot.

*

"Don't fucking kill the kids, disable if you can." Elizabeth realizes that there are enough kids outside that this isn't exactly feasible, a frown on her face. She gets to her feet, pulling her hoodie over her head and dropping it next to her double bagged microwave shit. Underneath the hoodie is a tank top and she sighs, moving behind Missy. "This is such a bad fucking idea, but they're gonna shoot at the cops too. Might as well squeeze them between us and SWAT." She tilts her head, gazing out the sliding door windows. Standing in the front is a dark haired teen boy, bandages on his shoulder. He looks really pissed. "Well shit." She points towards the apparent leader, smirking. "That's Malakai. I took him in when he tried to kill me two weeks ago. How the fuck did he get away from the cops?"

*

"Sorry, but we can't do that. But you could go ahead and leave now before any more people have to get hurt. If you hurry, you might outrun the police," John shouts back at 'Malakai.' When Wyatt comes to the door, John just looks at him blankly. "You can help by not being /here/," he says quietly, but seriously. He points towards the back of the store. "Go help the other people get out. And stay away from the windows. If you get hit, I won't have time to come help you," he says. He then turns to follow Missy and Elizabeth. "You were high on painkillers. I think your memory is foggy," he responds to Misfit. Though he does take her knife and unsheaths it. The, with no other cover really available, he grabs one of the shopping carts and shoves it towards the doors hard enough that it should roll well out into the parking lot. "Go now!" he urges Misfit.

*

Sully glances over at Lonnie as his reach catches in her peripheral vision. She flicks a quick glance over the enormous biker, then turns her attention toward the doors again. Perhaps she didn't see any weaponry. The bright orange wrapper of a Kit Kat sticks out of her back pocket by about a half inch. She lowers her phone and rests her hand across her knee, mobile draped loosely there. "Dispatch is a pain in the ass," the brunette calls over in Elizabeth's direction, "Should be rolling every LEO in radio range by now." She crams her phone, line still open, upside down in her other back pocket, reaching back to plug in a tangled earbud and go hands free with her phone too. She appears to be unarmed.

*

There was a heavy roll of Misfit's eyes at the comment to not kill the kids. Why did people always get so protective of kids? Even ones that were shooting! Whatever, this was drawing attention and shew as already in too deep to back out. "If someone shoots at me, I ain't gonna play nice." She said simply to Elizabeth. "Let's go. Just feel the rhythm and move with it." A little grin flashed and a two finger salute given to John before she heads through the doors, making a confident move for the gun.

*

In her defense, Lonnie's great mitt of a hand looks frankly comical with the little derringer, it'd be easy not to see it. Theres a moment of conflict in the big man, the gun wavering for a moment as he hears that people have called 911. With some reluctance, he puts the little weapon back in his boot and leans back against a shelf of deodorants, a can of Lynx tumbling down into his lap. This, he thinks as he pulls his lighter from a pocket, this is a something he can work with without being arrested.

*

Elizabeth gets up to move with the rest of them, and another shot rings out. The bullet takes the young blonde woman right in the shoulder, knocking her right off her feet. She hits the ground hard, but manages not to cry out in pain. The steady stream of swear words issuing from her mouth give an indicaton of her mood though. "Malacai! You fucker! I should have let you drown!" She yells, scooting herself back near the cash register. Most of the people in the store have left by now, fleeing out the back door where the police wait to check them for injuries, or to make sure they're not part of the group out front.

*

Following immediately after the shopping cart, the first thing John does is throw the can of corn at the nearest person aiming a gun. Hit or miss, the object is to get them to stop aiming the gun. Then, the pizza is hurled like a frisbee at Malakai to hopefully make him duck or otherwise get out of the way. Hopefully, the cart he'd shoved out the door provides Misfit enough cover to get to her gun. At which point, John will zig-zag and rush out to start dealing Greivous Bodily Harm to minors who don't try to run away. Starting with Malakai.

*

Wyatt nods to John's words. "Fair, but I can patch people up." He says. He does try to lead people onward towards the exits. Trying to clear the store. Seeing Lonnie and Sully as well when he moves further into the store proper. "Hey guys, don't suppose either of you can help guiding people out?" Which is around when he hear someone cry out in pain. Staying out of sight. Grabbing some cotton balls as he head toward Elizabeth, hearing her calling out to the teens. Once is is nearby he will motion. To see if he can put the cotton ball to the injury. Taking off his jacket to take his shirt, ready to tie it to keep her wound from bleeding more, if allowed.

*

Makeshift flamethrower ready, Lonnie edges towards the end of his aisle, "Whats the gameplan?" he asks around the corner before he catches sight of John making a break for it, "Oh, right, gotcha."
The big lug takes to his feet and barrels forward after John, spraying flame in little controlled bursts towards the gunmen's heads in an effort to throw off their aim before a couple hundred pounds of pissed off biker slams into them at speed.
Much violence follows, but at least its not going to get anyone arrested for anything more than aggravated assault.

*

There's the sound of a bullet finding home in meaty flesh. Sully's up and running at a low crouch do the aisle, cutting over as soon as she hits a break to cut down along the pharmacy. She's only been in here once before, so when she passes a display of lady products, she grabs a multi box of tampons just in case, and those boots of hers carry her, finally, into the proper aisle. Where they keep the medical supplies. At least she's fast. A huge handful of gauze pads, tape, and a jar of clotting powder. She grabs a kid's play bucket off the end cap, and dumps everything inside, little plastic shovel rattling.

*

With the cover provided by John's shopping cart, Misfit dove for the gun as a bullet pierced Elizabeth's skin. She didn't let the sounds of the woman startle her. Scooping the gun up, Missy fired off a shot at the closest, armed, kid -aiming for the kneecap. Then she'd level the gun at Malacai. "You're in way over you're head kid. You better rethink your plan kid." She shouted, though would stay with the cover of the shopping cart, moving to non-lethally try and take out a couple other kids that were approaching.

*

Elizabeth isn't prepared to stay down, and when Wyatt appears, putting pressure on the wound, she lets out a startled yelp. She struggles against his holds for a moment before she submits, laying down, panting quietly as blood slowly pools around her. It would be a lot worse if Wyatt wasn't trying to apply first aid. It's too bad that his 'patient' is not a good patient.

Outside, Lonnie's attack makes the kids scatter, one particularly young girl running pell mell away from the scene, weeping loudly. The older teenage boys? They find cover and start to aim. Looks like not everyone has pistols. One of the kids with an assault rifle takes aim, firing a bullet that might whiz right by Missy.

A grenade sails through the air, but the door closes before it can make it through, it doesn't matter though, the explosion causes glass to rain inside of the grocery store. The police are moving in slowly, and the remaining five teenage boys are sandwiched between the store and the cops.

Malakai won't permit them to flee, his voice ringing out loudly. "This is HIS will, we take Sister Elizabeth back to the compound, or we spill her blood on the floor of this building. Move in!"

*

Wyatt does try to help stop the bleeding, "Be still, or I'll have to pin you." He offers, trying to calm her some. Trying to tie his shirt to help stop the bleed, and keep the cotton in place. As the glass comes flying Wyatt does curse as he shift to cover. If any of the glass hits him it seems like adrenaline is filling him for now.

*

"FUCKING GRENADES?!?" yells Lonnie, incredulous even as he dives for cover in a hail of pistol shot, losing the deoderant-flammenwerfer in the process and rolling to a stop behind whatever he thinks is solid enough, "Alex couldda warned me theres fuckin' paramilitaries." he murmurs to himself, frantically digging through his kutte for a pack of smokes.. then realising hes lost his lighter in the process. FFFFFFFFFFF-
No time for that though, Lonnie, oh no, its time for some of the old ultraviolence. After all, hes between the door and the cultists now, and they have to come by him to get in, likely close enough to grab. He comes up on his haunches, tossing the smokes to one side, a beast ready to pounce.

*

Sully's just got her medical grade gloves on, about two steps from Wyatt and Elizabeth, at a fast moving crouch-run. She's just starting to reach in to get her hands involved when the grenade detonates, blowing glass and debris across and through, not to mention the concussive force, the utter shock of the volume of sound those things put out. The ME's thrown/dives to the ground, arms over her head. Most of the glass that rains down pelts harmlessly off of her leather jacket, thanks to partial cover that saved her from most of the concussive force too. "Fuck me." She can sort of hear herself say that over the ringing in her ears. She tips herself up, shaking off the glass.

*

Grenades? Where did these kids get grenades? Well, he'll have to ask them AFTER he finishes up. Yup. Advancing on people like John and Misfit is /really/ not a good idea. Staying low and out of the way of guns, John approaches the first teen with his knife in combat position. Snikt snikt snikt! No, Wolverine's not in the area. That's the sound John's knife makes as he cuts through skin and cloth, muscle fiber and sinew, not targetting arteries, just hamstring, elbow, achilles. Vital places that will make it pretty damn difficult for the kid to do much more than lay on the ground and bleed. Now. Where is this Malakai kid? That's John's next target.

*

Missy does NOT enjoy being shot at. With the police closing in she fires off a final shot at the kid that had shot at her. Aiming for the knee to take him down without killing him as the people were so fond of doing. The shot lands hope and Missy take off like a shot, disappeared back into the store and likely out a back exit. Her time here was finished.

*

Lonnie, urban predator, is ready for the kids walking past his hiding place. Ready with his great mitts to reach out and grab two of the poor kids, bringing their heads together with a roar worthy of any 1990s WWF star. He uses their bodies as shields, falling backwards into his cover and dragging the two unconcious kids with him.

*

Elizabeth cries out as Wyatt ties his shirt to put pressure on her shoulder. The teenage cultists scatter as John wades into them, and Malakai slips past the three combatants into the store itself. The kid with the assult rifle takes a bullet to the knee, crying out as he hits the ground. Lonnie though? He gets his hands on one of the kids, and they're going to be very unhappy that he did. It isn't pretty. Malakai stalks slowly toward Sully, Wyatt and Elizabeth, the latter of the three squirming around on the ground, attempting not to cry out. She catches sight of Malakai before the others and she claws on the ground for her gun, but she lost it when the bullet bit into her shoulder.

*

Wyatt does shift to let Sully come over, "Not right now." He replies to her, not able to help himself. Not wanting it to get quiet even in a moment like this. Just keep talking. "Do you have a better clue? I am okay with patching up, but that's my limit." He admits. If he get a response from Sully he will let her take over. Looking to Elizabeth. "We need to stop bumping into one another." Though noticing her gaze shifting makes him look over. Trying to see if he can find the gun nearby. If not, he will be ready to rush Malakai before he spots them.

*

Sully has one hand on Elizabeth, and one hand on her knife when she glances up at the movement from the front. It's Makalai, coming into finish the job, that takes most of her attention from the wounded woman on the floor. Still covered in glittery glass, the Medical Examiner takes a quick breath, turns her wrist, raises her arm in quick succession, and flings a small, extremely sharp kabar. The pointy bit finds a solid seat in Malakai, burying itself good and deep. Hopefully it caught a nerve or at least stuck in the bone. Kids today.

*

Having dispatched one of the teenagers, John leaves him crying on the pavement and then turns to look around. Where /was/ Malakai? The fact that he's not outside worries him, so he rushes back towards the building, just to make sure everything inside is still copacetic. Well, as much as it can be after a grenade blast, anyway. Internally, he's kicking himself for losing track of a target in the middle of a fight and resolving to get himself back into shape sooner rather than later. Just because he's out of the game isn't a good excuse to let his skills diminish!

*

Wyatt does dive for the gun. Turning to take aim at Malakai, just in case he doesn't go down from the knife by Sully. Deep breath and then squeezing the trigger to bring down Malakai. Not a great shot so it is anyone's guess where it hits as he sees that he at least hit his target.

*

Malakai raises his pistol, a dispassionate look on his face as he puts pressure on the trigger. Elizabeth closes her eyes, pretty sure this is the end, but then she hears a scream. When her blue eyes blink open, Malakai has a weapon sticking out of his shoulder, and he drops to his knees, his face twisted in rage. "Bitch." He spits at Sully, then he manages to take aim again, but before he can pull the trigger, a bullet takes him high in the thigh, and he drops his weapon, squirming on the ground. Elizabeth blinks at Wyatt, her eyes going from her gun in his hands back to cultist. "Jesus." She blinks and holds out a hand. "Give it here, before the.." The police start to move in then, bursting in to save the day to find themselves largely redundant.

Elizabeth is pale, staring at Malakai with wide eyes. "Well I had to take a piss.." She remarks, blinking a few times before she groans. "I hope they have a fucking ambulance out there."

*

It's AB-SO-LUTE Pandemonium out here today, Jim!

Mike had arrived on scene a few moments behind the local metro department and had been helping in the command and control element of distributing where these little shit bags were being hauled off to and kept in a safe place, as it would be a shame if any of them tripped, fell, or slammed their heads into the hoods of any of the local patrol unit cars. A real /shame/. The situation at hand was a ridiculous level of dramatic operatics, as often large grandoise scenario's were by terrorist groups.

And then, there weren't enough numbers to match up with what was going on. He'd been manhandling a detainee a moment ago, but he wouldn't forget a crucial detail like how many fuckheads were standing around. Queue adrenaline rush.

Mike tugged at the retention strap of the two-point sling fastened to his carbine and pivotred it into his shoulder to a high-ready preparation position against the thick drab green of his plate carrier which read boldly 'POLICE - U.S. MARSHAL'. Heavy bootfalls through broken glass crackled as Mike scanned in front of him, pivoting around the entrance and toward the checkout area.

"POLICE, DROP THE WEAPON!" - which of course, was more of a formality, as he squeezed two rounds from his rifle directly toward the upper center mass of Malakai from a rear quarter angle approach.

*

Being in cover is working well for Lonnie so far, and this teenager's wallet and phone needs both found and rifled. Criminals, eh? Fun people to hang around with as long as the-
-Cops don't show up. Fuck. Well, these teenagers are going to jail anyway, having an unregistered firearm on them wouldn't do too much damage and Lonnie isn't going back to prison. The derringer gets slipped into the teen's pocket, along with his now cash free wallet and the SIM for his phone- and Lonnie puts his hands on his head in preparation for the questioning

*

When a man in uniform gets into the grocery store before him and fires two rounds into Malakai's back, John frowns again. Just like a cop, to shoot someone in the back when they're already clearly not a threat. John shakes his head and straightens up, setting the knife on the ground and holding his hands up. The cops will likely have a few questions for him as well, so he moves to sit on the curb outside and wait, keeping his hands at shoulder level.

*

After throwing that knife, Sully sits back on her heels, hands beginning the quick work of peeling open several packets of gauze, even as her steady green eyes remain locked on the threat. She's unarmed now, but Elizabeth is still bleeding. She's still looking right at Malakai when he goes down to his knees, of course, and when he curses, and also when a double tap impacts the little shithead center mass. She purses her lips, swallows once, and says, "My ex-husband called me that; it sounds better in French, you fuckstick."

*

Wyatt does blink at Mike's reaction as well. Putting his own down before he is also shot. Putting it nearby to where the trio of him, Sully, and Elizabeth, are. "Can I help any?" He asks Sully. Letting Mike handle the situation.

*

Elizabeth manages a laugh, but it's weak, and when she coughs she tastes blood. "Fuck." The EMT's bustle on the scene now and they wheel a gurney inside frowning at the glass scattered around the grocery store. "Well this is going to be a clean up job, won't it?" The young red-haired EMT and her partner load Elizabeth on the gurney, stabilizing her neck. "We'll take over from here." They say, wheeling Elizabeth out of the sliding doors toward the ambulance. Anyone who takes a closer look at the vehicle might notice that the paint seems to be a little off colored, but by the time they notice? The vehicle is already on its way. It's not heading toward the hospital either, but in the other direction.

*

Sully went along with Elizabeth when she was taken to the ambulance, and she was about to step up into the back of the bus when she realized what she was stepping into. She opened her mouth to call out, but before she could actually make noise, she was pulled inside and the doors were closed. The ambulance slowly started to pull away from the scene, going in the wrong direction, but before it could get very far, the rear doors opened and someone came flying out. The vehicle picked up speed after that, the lights on the top still flashing. One of the deputies on the scene went to assist Sully, helping her back to the store, making sure she was okay.

*

The grenade probably made her a little slow. Sully was still shaking off glass when Elizabeth was hustled away, rudely right out of her hands, before she's finished evaluating what she now considers to be her patient. The petite brunette is dragged bodily into that shambulance right when her bullshit-o-meter, finely honed by years dealing with New York City's glorious rejects, pings to level aw hell no.

The doors slam shut behind her and there's a thump from inside. The whole rig rocks as it speeds off, then the doors pop open and out comes a familiar (didn't we just see her?) short brunette.

Whump. That looks like it hurt. Boy, howdy. The woman lays there on her side, rolling over just as a friendly deputy comes over to help her up.
